Zuo Yue Zi Meal Plan · Shipped Frozen

Frozen Soup & Dessert

冷凍幸福湯品

Simmered. Sweet. Done.

A newborn leaves little room for a six-hour simmer. The dishes that take all day — the slow-simmered soups and the restorative desserts — cooked, frozen, and shipped to your door. Your kitchen handles the rest.

The heart of the confinement month is in the slow work — soups simmered for hours, desserts made to restore. The Frozen Soup & Dessert plan takes that all-day cooking off your hands.

The slow-simmered recovery soups and the restorative desserts, made the traditional way — ready to round out whatever your kitchen is already cooking.

We make the all-day dishes in our Walnut, CA kitchen and freeze them to hold their nourishment, then send them to your door by FedEx Priority Overnight. You pull what you need, and the rest of the meal comes from your own stove.

Inside Each Day

The slow-cooked heart of the month

Your weekly shipment arrives with seven pillow-size thermal bags inside — a day of soups and desserts in each. Pull a bag, and the all-day cooking is already done:

Midday SoupA slow-cooked lunch soup & entrée · ~600 × 400

The midday anchor

A slow-cooked fish or lunch soup with a rotating entrée — the centerpiece your family builds lunch around.

ShippingThe FedEx overnight box & thermal packaging · ~600 × 400

FedEx Priority Overnight

Your week ships the fastest way there is — FedEx's top overnight service. Meals leave our kitchen and land at your door the next morning, so nothing lingers in transit and the cold chain stays unbroken across the continental US. The faster it travels, the fresher it tastes when you thaw it.

Evening SoupsPostpartum soups & desserts · ~600 × 400

Evening soups & two desserts

A Taiwanese postpartum soup — like the classic sesame oil chicken — with a tonic soup, plus two restorative desserts. Rice and vegetables come from your own kitchen.

Perfect For You If…

Your family cooks the everyday food. We handle the all-day food.

Soup & Dessert is for the mom whose household is willing — but whose willing hands can't slow-simmer for six hours.

Maybe your mother flew in for the month and wants to cook — but the confinement soups she remembers need ingredients no store nearby carries. Maybe your partner has breakfast and vegetables covered, and what's missing is the hard part.

This plan slots into a working kitchen: breakfast and simple sides stay with whoever loves cooking them, while the soups and desserts — the dishes that take a whole day — arrive done.

Many families pair it with the standalone Herbal Pack ($349), made for exactly this situation: a mom whose family is cooking for her.

The Idea Behind This Plan

“Let your family do the loving part. We'll do the all-day part.”

Good Questions

Before you decide

Is frozen really as good as fresh?

It's the same food from the same kitchen. Every dish is cooked fresh in our own Walnut, CA kitchen, then frozen to hold its nourishment until it reaches you. Thaw it in the refrigerator, heat it through, and it tastes the way it was cooked — warm and home-style, nothing like a supermarket TV dinner. Frozen is simply how we bring a real Zuo Yue Zi to families who live far from fresh delivery.

Is this enough food on its own?

This plan is designed to work alongside home cooking — it covers the slow-simmered soups, the recovery dishes, and the desserts, while breakfast, vegetables, and simple sides come from your own kitchen. If you need every meal handled, the Frozen Classic or Frozen Herbal plans cover the full day.

Can I pair this with the herbal drinks?

Yes — it's one of the most common pairings. Add the herbal drinks at $100/week with your shipments, or order the standalone Herbal Pack ($349), which was made for moms whose families are cooking for them.

Can my family eat the soups too?

The portions are made for one — the new mother. Many customers tell us their partner ends up sharing anyway, but if you want enough for two, the safer answer is a second portion. We'd rather be honest than have you run out three days in.

Will a month of frozen food fit in my freezer?

Longer plans ship weekly, so you're only ever storing about a week at a time. Many families keep five days in the freezer and let a couple of days thaw in the refrigerator. If space is truly tight, a small upright freezer is often enough — and it earns its keep long after the confinement month.

How do I reheat the meals?

Thaw overnight in the refrigerator, then reheat until it's piping hot all the way through — an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) is the safe mark for reheated food. Each day arrives pre-portioned in its own pillow-size thermal bag, so there's no meal planning, no labels to decode, and nothing to assemble — grab one bag, that's your day.

When should I order?

At least one month before your due date, if you can. The week your baby arrives, you will not have the bandwidth to compare plans or fill out forms — and you shouldn't have to. Your shipments start when you tell us the baby has arrived, not on a fixed calendar.

Not Sure Yet?

Taste before you commit.

Most mothers who ship frozen tried a sample first. Eight dishes from our real recipes, in the same packaging materials we use every day — enough to taste the food and try the reheating before you commit.

Ships FedEx overnight across the continental US — or call (626) 217-7539. We're usually around later than you'd expect.
